All results are estimates based solely on the figures you enter and on simplified mathematical assumptions. No advice and no regulated activity. We do not provide financial, investment, credit, mortgage, insurance, tax or legal advice or recommendations. We do not arrange, broker, introduce or facilitate any financial product, and we take no part in any application or contract between you and any third party. Calculator results are not an offer, quotation or recommendation.

By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2.2 The service
The Site offers free, browser-based financial calculators and informational tools. Calculations run in your browser; we do not require registration and the values you enter are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
2.3 Accuracy and estimates
Results are illustrative estimates only. We do not guarantee their accuracy, completeness or suitability for any purpose, and we accept no responsibility for decisions made on their basis.
2.4 Third-party links and affiliates
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including affiliate partners. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, products, services, pricing or privacy practices of those third parties. Any dealings with them are solely between you and the third party.
2.5 Intellectual property
All content, design and code on the Site are owned by or licensed to the operator and may not be copied or reproduced without permission, except for normal personal use of the calculators.
2.6 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special loss or damage (including loss of profit, savings, data or goodwill) arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or any third-party site. These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, United Kingdom, and subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.

Finrato is funded in part by advertising and affiliate marketing. This means the Site may contain links to products or services for which we receive a commission if you click through and/or take an action (such as signing up), at no additional cost to you.
We do not rank, endorse or recommend any specific product as "best" or "cheapest" for you, and a commission does not constitute advice. Where we display partner links we use the wording "compare offers"; the choice and responsibility for any product remains entirely yours. We aim to work only with properly authorised advertisers and affiliate networks.

4.1 Data controller

4.2 What we collect
The calculators themselves do not send or store the figures you enter — all calculation happens locally in your browser. We may process limited technical data (such as IP address, device/browser type, pages visited) via cookies and analytics, and — only with your consent — via advertising (e.g. Google AdSense). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
4.3 Cookies
We use: (a) strictly necessary cookies for the Site to function; (b) analytics cookies to measure traffic; and (c) advertising cookies (e.g. Google AdSense) to show ads. Non-essential cookies are only set with your prior consent, which you can withdraw at any time via your browser settings or our consent banner.
4.4 Legal basis
We rely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for analytics and advertising cookies, and on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for the security and proper functioning of the Site.
